p1: Jam holds up the finished PCB.
Jam: A bare PCB won't do much without components! In Shenzhen, you can head to Huaqianbei (HQB) -- an electronic component super-mall -- to find what you need!
There you'll find stalls upon stalls of electronic goods.
p2: Inside HQB. It is very crowded and chaotic inside, with many different shops set up behind 1-2meter wide waist-height glass counters. Shops are right next to each other and organized into islands. In the center of the islands, inventory is piled high and displayed all over the place. There are vibrant signs everywhere you can see advertising different products. Many people are talking to the shop owners, negotiating over specific components.
You can buy a single component, a whole reel, or talk to a factory representative to negotiate something custom.
p3: At one of the kiosk stalls advertising PCBs, a worker is soldering right behind the counter in the marketplace.
Small modifications can be made in hours!
p3: Fiona speaks and in the background you can see various components on reels.
Fiona: I know who I can trust here at HQB, and if I need to, I can get parts the same day!
